Get Fit

Everyone reaches a point in his or her life when they decide it is time to get fit. They are tired of looking and feeling tired, fat, and lazy. If you have reached that point now, you will most likely be ready to get up off the couch or out of the bed and get started. It’s time to make a plan that you can follow and stick to it.

First of all, you will need to really evaluate your lifestyle. If you have been rather sedentary for a long time, starting off easy is the best idea. In that way, you will neither hurt yourself, nor make unrealistic goals that you will never reach. Formulate an exercise routine and diet that you know you can stick to.

For people who are trying to get fit after years of doing nothing healthy, walking is a great way to begin. Walking can be one of the very best forms of exercise to keep you motivated. It is easy to do, and you can either change your routes often, or stick to the same one. It’s totally up to you. Set easy goals at first. Try 10 minutes a day of walking everyday for a week. That’s a very reachable goal and one that will give you motivation because you will be reaching it everyday. The second week, add another 5 minutes to your daily walk. Your body should be used to walking by now and another 5 minutes will not be that noticeable. By the end of 4 weeks, you should be up to 30 minutes a day. You will be shocked at how much difference even this will make in your quest to get fit.

Of course, eating a healthier and well balanced diet will make a huge difference in your body. You don’t have to restrict yourself to only salads and things you don’t like. Start monitoring the portions you eat each day, and don’t skip meals. This is all something that you can work into gradually. Use smaller plates for the 3 basic meals. This will help you to put less on the plate, and even when you clean your plate, you will still be eating less than you did before. You are now well on your way in your goal to get fit. Limit your sugar intake. Before long, you will find that you don’t actually WANT to eat as much as you did before. Sweet food will also not be as appealing as it once was.

Doing things this way may seem slow, but it will be much more effective in the long run. You didn’t become out of shape overnight, and the correction to this will also not happen overnight. By starting out slow, you give yourself time to adjust to your new routine. You also will notice improvements in your body as you go. These results will give you the motivation to continue on your path to get fit.
